About Us

My love for dogs began at an early age.  I grew up with animals of all kinds and was always bringing home new family members; much to my mother's dismay.

My first introduction to purebred dogs was at the age of 9 when my father took me to my first dog show.  I was amazed at the many breeds that existed, thus my search began for the "perfect" breed; the dog that I'd save my money for.  It was a Cocker Spaniel that I wanted.

I was able to finally fulfill this dream when I was on my  own and acquired an ASCOB pet, followed by a lovely Black and Tan show potential female and we entered the ring.  We accumulated many blue ribbons but no points and I learned quickly that the Cocker ring was for professionals.  But, I knew someday I'd be back in the ring when I had a competitive dog and the resources necessary.

Years later I began my search for the "perfect" breed for my children who were 6 and 8; something with less hair and hopefully a more stable temperament than what I had experienced with Cockers.  Now on a mission, my 9-month search for a Cavalier began.

We acquired our first Cavalier, Rutherford Milton, from Robbi Jones of Rutherford Cavaliers, in 1994.  Milton was a tri-color Cavalier and quite possibly, the best thing that ever happened to us.  He quickly became everybody's best friend and it was clear why 1 Cavalier is never enough!  Poor guy, he couldn't sleep in 3 different beds in 1 night.

In 2003 we were blessed with Artie, Ch. Countrymanor Special Agent, a blenheim.  Without even realizing it, we had acquired our "competitive dog"; a VERY competitive dog.  Three weekends of shows and less than 2 months later, Artie was a champion at 19 months.  He took BOB and was in the group ring his very first show!  Having been to class only a couple of times, Artie wanted nothing to do with standing still for examination.  He thought that was "nonsense" and wanted to strut his stuff.  Wow, what a mover!  What a showoff!  We were HOOKED and had to have another Cavalier to prepare for the ring.

We have since acquired several very lovely Cavaliers with 2 females now having earned their AKC championships and several others pointed and working on their championship.  Needless to say, as most owners know, Cavaliers are like potato chips; can't stop at one, and we now have a small bag of chips.

I'm very thankful to those admired breeders that have entrusted us with their babies.  And, we have also shared lovely dogs and puppies with other families and they continue to spread their love to all they come in contact with.
